Assets managed by insurance companies operating in Bulgaria, amounted to BGN 11.512 billion as of the end of December 2024. They increased by BGN 715.3 million (6.6%) compared to the end of December 2023 (BGN 10.797 billion) and by BGN 220 million (1.9%) compared to the end of the third quarter of 2024 (BGN 11.292 billion), the Bulgarian National Bank reported here on Wednesday.

Assets of life insurance companies increased by BGN 442.5 million (14.9%) from BGN 2.962 billion as of the end of December 2023 to BGN 3.405 billion at the end of the same month of 2024. Compared to the end of September 2024 (BGN 3.304 billion) they increased by BGN 100.2 million (3%). At the end of December 2024 their share in the total assets was 29.6% compared to 27.4% at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023 and 29.3% at the end of September 2024.

Assets managed by general insurance companies 4 increased by BGN 272.8 million (3.5%) from BGN 7.834 billion as of the end of December 2023 to BGN 8.107 billion at the end of the same month of 2024 and by BGN 119.8 million (1.5%) compared to the end of September 2024 (BGN 7.987 billion).
