The results of the negotiations between the U.S. and Ukraine in Jeddah on a ceasefire agreement are a step in the right direction, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said on Facebook. Along with the U.S., Europe and Bulgaria must participate in finding a solution to achieve peace in Ukraine, he further stressed.

Following more than eight hours of talks between the U.S. and Ukraine in the Saudi Arabian capital, the two sides issued a joint statement saying that Ukraine is ready to accept an U.S. proposal for an immediate temporary 30-day ceasefire, which could be extended by mutual agreement if accepted and implemented by Russia, Reuters reported, citing the joint U.S.-Ukraine statement. The U.S. will inform Russia that reciprocal action from Moscow is key to achieving peace, the statement further said.
