Topical issues of the food industry, in accordance with the latest requirements of Bulgarian and European regulations, were discussed during the 14th National Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation on Friday, the organizers from the Union of Food Industry and Veterinary Practice magazine said. The event was held at the International Fair Plovdiv.

The programme of the conference included practical exercises and discussions on issues of concern to the representatives of the food industry regarding control bodies from Bulgaria and the European Union.

Some of the topics covered were the Green Deal, changes in legislation, and control issues aimed at improving the quality and safety of organic food. The topic of healthy eating was also addressed.

The main aim of the conference was to provide participants with an overview of current requirements and solutions related to food, beverages, and relevant equipment.

The new European regulations on food labelling and certification, as well as standards for animal welfare, were also among the topics discussed.

Presentations on new technologies for food product analysis and control attracted significant interest, along with discussions on innovative methods to tackle antimicrobial resistance in livestock farming.

Speakers at the conference included experts from the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, the University of Food Technologies, the Institute of Food Preservation and Quality, among others.
