site.btaBulgaria's Gross External Debt Stands at 57.5% of GDP at End-June

August 28 (BTA) - Bulgaria's gross external debt totalled
 34,034 million euro (57.5 per cent of GDP) at the end of June
2019, increasing by 144.5 million euro (0.4 per cent) from a
year earlier, the Bulgarian National Bank said.

Long-term liabilities totalled 25,712.2 million euro (75.5 per
cent of the gross debt, 43.5 per cent of GDP) at end-June. Year
on year, long-term liabilities decreased by 224.2 million euro
(0.9 per cent).

Short-term liabilities stood at 8,321.8 million euro (24.5 per
cent of the gross debt, 14.1 per cent of GDP). They grew by
368.8 million euro (4.6 per cent) from a year earlier.

The General Government's gross external debt totalled 5,451
million euro (9.2 per cent of GDP) in end-June 2019, down by
193.7 million euro (3.4 per cent) from a year earlier.

Gross external debt service in the first half of 2019 totalled
3,096.9 million euro (5.2 per cent of GDP), compared with
3,116.2 million euro (5.6 per cent of GDP) in January-June 2018.
