site.btaBulgarian Hostages Released by Houthis to Land in Sofia on Thursday
The two Bulgarian sailors, crew members of the Galaxy Leader, that had been kept as hostages by Houthi rebels for more than a year, will return with a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev on Thursday afternoon, the Foreign Ministry press service reported. The sailors were released on Wednesday.
On the orders of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, a government plane was sent to pick them up from Oman.
The Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said received a letter of gratitude from Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Oman News Agency reported on Thursday. The letter was delivered by the Minister Georgiev and received by his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
