site.btaGyursel Hasanov Resigns as Targovishte Regional Governor

Gyursel Hasanov left the post of governor of Targovishte region. "I have nothing to do with this government and I do not want to be part of it," Hasanov was quoted as saying by Targovishte regional administration.

"I would like to sincerely thank the entire regional administration - I have found a well-functioning structure and I am happy to say that I leave it even more organized, efficient and cohesive", Hasanov said in a statement distributed on the institution's website. "I am grateful for the high professionalism I have encountered and for your dedication" he added.

He also expressed gratitude to all the institutions in the district for their constructive partnership, and to every citizen for their patience, support and understanding during the seven months he was at the helm of the institution. 

Gyursel Hasanov took office on July 27, 2024 over from Gergana Tsoneva, who is currently Deputy Governor of Targovishte Region. 

Earlier on Thursday Delyan Peevski called on the regional governors of MRF - New Beginning to resign, if they want to have a career in the party.
