"Our aspiration and attempt to have a regular government is to stop the free fall of the country," GERB leader Boyko Borissov told journalists in Parliament on Thursday. Borissov congratulated all those who contributed to the release of the Bulgarian sailors from the Galaxy Leader vessel, captured by the Houthi.

This government was created with the compromise of each party that is in it, and each of us suffered image damage from being part of it. It sounds a bit pathetic, but in this case we put the state and Bulgaria above the interests of the party, the GERB leader added.

In his words, the 15 days of talks with Democratic Bulgaria (DB) and GERB's agreement to all of their proposals was a mistake. I think it is high time GERB started disagreeing with DB, because with them you can see that the Supreme Judicial Council is currently blocked, Borissov said.

Regarding the work of Parliament Borissov said that he sees "stubborn enthusiasm" in the opposition to speak against the government. There is nothing wrong, but for someone to say on Wednesday that this government is ruling wrongly and badly for Bulgaria, when that it does not have a single sitting, or decision, shows what their behaviour would be, Borissov added.

“In the first few days of the government we have one good thing - all European institutions, with their leaders - expressed satisfaction that Bulgaria has returned to the normal situation of a member state with a regular government.”

We succeeded in restoring this normality - to have a regular government that can fall and be replaced by the opposition,” Borissov said, adding that since yesterday he has seen a very fierce opposition from Continue the Change-DB, which are the main culprits for everything in the last five years, along with MRF-New Beginnings and Vazrazhdane. “Let us have the political culture to take into account who the Bulgarians have voted for, “ Borissov said.

Asked why the opposition had not received chairmanships of the parliamentary committees, Borissov said that no agreement had been reached with fellow MPs from the opposition parties and recalled that everyone was talking about how the most important thing was the election of the Supreme Judicial Council, and of the regulators, and without parliamentary committees these procedures could not start at all.
