Addressing a conference on "International Connectivity - Key to Sustainable Growth of Bulgarian Tourism", Transport and Communications Minister Krasimira Stoyanova Friday said the efforts to develop transport and digital infrastructure were yielding increasingly good results. The event was organized by the National Board on Tourism in partnership with the Tourism Ministry.

Stoyanova emphasized the role of aviation, saying that the growing number of air carriers operating in Bulgaria is good news for tourism and business.

She said Sofia Airport is increasingly becoming a hub for companies providing technical services. Currently, the airport handles flights from and to 46 countries, and is expected to become a key regional hub once Terminal 3 is built.

Bulgarian seaside airports are also doing well after good investments were made, Stoyanova said. She added that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Administration has started issuing electronic documents for 46 of their administrative services, which is important for business.
