1893: Bulgarians gather in Thessaloniki to establish VMORO revolutionary organization to liberate Macedonia and Eastern Thrace from Ottoman rule.

1906: The government of Prime Minister Dimiter Petkov is formed (in office until February 26, 1907).

1960: Diplomatic relations established with Mali.

1991: Diplomatic relations established with Russian Federation.

1992: State Agency for Refugees is set up.

1998: American Standard company opens bathroom products plant, Ideal Standard, in Sevlievo, North Central Bulgaria, built on investment of USD 42 million.
