In July 2024, the total consumer confidence indicator increased by 5.6 percentage points compared to its April level, according to National Statistical Institute data released on Wednesday. There was an improvement in consumer confidence among both urban and rural inhabitants by 4.5 and 8.8 percentage points, respectively.

By comparison, consumer confidence in April went up by 1.5 percentage points compared to January, both in urban and rural areas, by 1.3 and 1.6 percentage points, respectively.

In July, Bulgarians remained of the view that consumer prices have risen over the last 12 months, but at a lower rate compared to April. They also expect less inflation over the next 12 months.

A slight improvement in the total assessment of the conditions for saving in the present economic situation in this country was reported in July. A positive change in the respondents’ expectations over the next 12 months is also observed. The last survey reports a slightly more positive attitude towards spending money on durable goods, buying or building a home, and home improvements over the next 12 months.
