The exhibition Tales of Gold and Silver of the National History Museum will be on at the Palace Cultural Centre in Balchik from August 5 to October 14.

The exhibition was specially prepared for the 100th anniversary of the Palace Cultural Centre and will include some of the most significant treasures discovered in Bulgaria, including 61 items made of gold and silver, as well as two replicas, said the Palace Cultural Centre.

Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the Varna Necropolis and the gold found there, as it shows it was there that the first European civilization formed. Visitors will also see the grave find of the Rupite village in Petrich Region, which shows hints of a jewellery production site in the area, existing in the last centuries of the 3rd millennium BC, connecting the North Aegean and the Banat and Transylvanian production centres of that time.

Items from the rich heritage of the Thracian culture will also be presented at the exhibition, such as the famous treasure of the Thracian priestess from the mound at Sinemorets. The exhibition will also feature the accidentally discovered Preslav Treasure from 1978, consisting of silver bracelets, gold earrings, and a gold and silver coin, which were hidden in a well-worked block of limestone.
