After an upbeat mood at the beginning of the year, Bulgarian business is more pessimistic in July, a search in the website of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) shows. 

In July 2024, the total business climate indicator decreases by 1.5 percentage points from June (from 24.5% to 23.0%), NSI reported on Tuesday.

The indicator declined in industry, construction and retail trade, while staying almost unchanged, month on month, in the services sector.

In January, the total business climate indicator climbed 3 percentage points from December 2023, registering an increase in all sectors observed: industry, construction, retail trade and services.

Since the beginning of the year, managers have been citing the same most serious difficulties, including an uncertain economic environment, shortage of labour, costs of materials, and competition in the branch.
