March 17 (BTA) - Health Minister Kiril Ananiev Tuesday issued an order concerning the persons subject to a compulsory 14-day quarantine and the way the authorities will exercise control over that quarantine, the Health Ministry said Tuesday.

Following are key texts of the Health Minister's order.

Subject to a compulsory 14-day quarantine at home or another accommodation as stated upon their entry in Bulgaria, are all Bulgarian and foreign nationals and their family members who reside permanently or long-term in Bulgaria and are arriving in this country from China, Iran, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Spain, Italy, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Drivers of heavy-duty trucks who are nationals of or arriving from one of the above-mentioned countries, must unload their cargo and leave Bulgaria immediately, without spending more than 24 hours in transit.

The health of foreign nationals quarantined in Bulgaria is monitored by the medical treatment facility with which their place of accommodation has a contract for provision of medical care.

All close contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case are placed under quarantine at home or another accommodation and under medical observation for a 14-day period, as of the date of their last contact with the infected person.

All quarantined persons are obliged to remain at home or at the place they have told the authorities they will be staying.

Should symptoms of COVID-19 occur, the quarantined persons must contact by phone their general practitioner, the medical treatment facility servicing their accommodation, or the corresponding regional health inspectorate so as to receive relevant instructions.

Should symptoms of COVID-19 not occur, the quarantine is lifted upon the expiration of the 14-day period.
