A cooperation agreement was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and Pernik Mayor Stanislav Vladimirov during the local conference within BTA's Europe on Balkans: Cohesion Skills project at the BTA National Press Club here on Friday.

The agreement is for cooperation and comprehensive coverage of the cultural calendar in Pernik and the Surva International Festival of Masquerade Games. "It is a great pleasure for me today, when the Surva International Festival of Masquerade Games, which is the largest winter festival in Europe and one of the biggest advertisements not only for Pernik, but also for the whole of Bulgaria, opens, to sign an agreement with the Bulgarian News Agency," Vladimirov said.

"The participants put their energy and soul into continuing the tradition, making masks that are distinguished by their exclusivity," he added, thanking BTA for giving him a photo of the festival from 1966. He stressed that the media should cover the festival in order to show good practices in all areas where local administration and infrastructure are developing.

Valchev commented that the idea is for BTA to systematically cover the entire cultural calendar of Pernik Municipality, adding that BTA already has such agreements with the municipalities of Sofia, Ruse, Kyustendil, Samokov, Troyan, Byala, Bansko and Lovech.
