Photographer Peter Vulchev and art therapist Elitsa Velikova will showcase their exhibition Family Gravity and an interactive installation titled The Memory of Objects at the Cube Gallery of Sofia’s centre for contemporary arts, Toplocentrala, on February 2 and 3, the organizers have said.
The project raises questions such as, "Do I know enough about my family?" and "Do I truly know the people within its structure?".
The exhibition was originally presented at the Dong Gang Museum of Photography in South Korea in 2018 as part of the museum's permanent exhibition. It was also featured in the selection of the PhotoVisa festival in Russia.
"Family Gravity" was first presented in Bulgaria at the Doza Gallery in 2021. Photographs from the exhibition were displayed in Paris in 2023 as part of the Faces of Europe exhibition, which presents 20 of the best European photographs every year during Europe Day celebrations, the organizers added.
Peter Vulchev is a director, screenwriter, producer, and photographer with over ten years of experience in film and visual arts. Throughout his career, he has created numerous documentaries, music videos, social campaigns, and photography projects.
