site.btaParliament Protects Immunity of Mario Rangelov

On Friday, Parliament did not give permission to lift the immunity of MP Mario Rangelov from the parliamentary group of Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF).

The decision was in connection with a request by acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov to lift the MP's immunity because of an assessment made by the supervising prosecutor that, based on the evidence gathered, criminal responsibility for crimes against the political rights of citizens should proceed. The decision was adopted by 86 votes in favour, 79 against, and 47 abstentions.
