The EU Foreign Affairs Council is set to review relations with the United States during its first session of 2025, scheduled for the last week of January. The agenda for Monday’s meeting in Brussels comes days after Donald Trump’s inauguration for his second term as U.S. President.
The ministers are also expected to discuss the situation in Ukraine, with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha joining the session via video conference. The Council will exchange views on developments in Moldova and Georgia. On the eve of the meeting, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will host a dinner focusing on Belarus.
