site.btaPresident Radev to Host Iftar Dinner in Honour of Ramadan
President Rumen Radev will host a traditional iftar dinner on Monday to mark the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Vice President Iliana Iotova will also take part in the event scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia, the head of State's Press Secretariat said.
Among those invited to attend are representatives of the Muslim community and other traditional religious communities in Bulgaria, officials of the diplomatic corps in this country, intellectuals, cultural figures and educators.
The President's hosting of the iftar dinner is a mark of respect for the religious traditions and customs of Bulgarian people of Muslim faith, the President’s Press Secretariat added.
Muslims in Bulgaria will celebrate Ramadan Bayram on April 9, 10 and 11, according to a government decision, which sets the dates of religious holidays in 2024.
