Ukrainian Ambassador here Olesya Ilashchuk donated books to the Regional Library in Varna under the programme “Ukrainian Bookshelf”. The Ambassador attended the opening of an exhibition “Stone Embroideries from Nova Kakhovka on Textile” staged by Tetyana Bolgarova in Varna.
Within the initiative the Ukrainian Embassy donated more than a hundred books for children and adults and translated works of Ukrainian authors into Bulgarian, said Ilashchuk. She recalled that the project was conceived before the war to allow other countries learn more about Ukraine’s history, culture and traditions. Today the project is taking on a special significance because Ukrainians are forced to flee to other countries, including Bulgaria.
The project "Ukrainian Bookshelf" is implemented all around the world under the auspices of First Lady Olena Zelenska by the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Culture and Information Policy Ministry and the Ukrainian Book Institute, said the Ambassador.
