Sofia, September 30 (BTA) - Addressing a national meeting of the Interior Ministry leadership on Friday, Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova said that statistics shows the crime rates to have dropped by 9.9 per cent at the end of September and the clear-up rate to have increased by 8.8 per cent. "In the recent months the Interior Ministry has been working very well and more and more people are now aware of what we do and why we do it," Buchvarova said.

The Minister singled out the officers of the Sofia Directorate of the Interior, the Directorate General of the National Police and the Pernik Directorate of the Interior for their good work. She also praised the work of the Directorate General for Combatting Organized Crime.

Pre-trial corruption cases have increased by 130 per cent, said Buchvarova.
