Unit 6 of Kozloduy Stops for Scheduled Maintenance Works

Vratsa, Northwestern Bulgaria, October 1 (BTA) - Unit 6 of the Kozloduy N-plant suspended operation at 2.21 am on the night of Friday to Saturday due to scheduled maintenance works.

During the maintenance the unit will be restocked with fresh nuclear fuel.

Activities will be implemented to extend its life. In order to increase the heat capacity of the reactor to 104 per cent, the upgrade of the separation systems of the steam generators will be finished.

Maintenance works are expected to end in the first half of November. Unit 5 of Kozloduy operates at 100 per cent of its capacity.
