BSP Proposes Fund to Back Development of Priority Sectors
Sofia, October 3 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) said on Monday its leader, Kornelia Ninova, has proposed setting up a scheme the will help fund the development of priority sectors.
The idea for the Industry fund was unveiled at a meeting with executives from the state-run Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), the BSP press office said in a statement.
"Our idea is to determine which sectors will be developed in the next 10-20 years. Funding, personnel and markets for them will then be secured from a special Industry fund," Ninova said, adding that BSP will draw up a state policy for a domestic manufacturing sector.
The BDB officials liked the idea and said they were ready to discuss it at a follow-up meeting at expert level, the statement said.
BSP continues to hold meetings with experts and industrial associations as part of efforts to develop a national development fund which the party intends to present by the end of the year.
