Bulgarian President Meets with Visiting President of Board of Directors of Saudi Arabia's Commission for Tourism and National Heritage

Sofia, October 6 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev met here Thursday with Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the Board of Directors of the Commission for Tourism and National Heritage of Saudi Arabia, said the presidential Press Secretariat. Plevneliev told the guest that Bulgaria has fine conditions to develop all types of tourism, including seaside, mountain, cultural, spa and medical tourism, and needs strong partners to capitalize on its potential.

The head of State reconfirmed the resolve of this country to attract more investment in the rapidly developing sectors of tourism, high-tech and the automotive industry, and underscored Bulgaria's competitive advantages: strategic location, low level of government debt. conservative fiscal policy and qualified labour.

Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said that Bulgaria and the other countries of Southeast Europe have natural resources and rich cultural heritage, and Saudi Arabia is ready to step up the cooperation and increase its investment in tourism and the economy.

He invited the Bulgarian President to visit Saudi Arabia at his convenience.

Plevneliev also noted the ample opportunities for implementing joint projects in the energy sector and agriculture, and mentioned that investors have an opportunity to use financial support from the EU funds.

On Wednesday, Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Bulgarian Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova signed  a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two countries.
