Construction Output Decrease

Sofia, October 8 (BTA) - In August, industrial output decreased
by 0.9 per cent from the previous month, showed seasonally
adjusted data of the National Statistical Institute released on
Wednesday. In August 2014, working day adjusted industrial
production index dropped 1.9 per cent from a year earlier.

August saw month-on-month decrease in electricity, heating and
gas production and distribution (2.9 per cent), and in the
processing industry (0.7 per cent), whereas mining grew 2.8 per
cent.

Year-on-year, electricity, heating and gas production decreased
by 15.2 per cent, and mining by 5.3 per cent, while the
processing industry grew 3 per cent.

The construction output index, based on seasonally adjusted
data, dropped 1.6 per cent from July. Working day adjusted data
indicate an annual drop of 0.3 per cent.

In August, residential construction dropped 1.5 per cent from
July, and civil construction dropped 1.6 per cent.

Year-on-year, building construction fell by 7.7 per cent, while
civil construction grew by 9.7 per cent. PK/PP
