Former Bulgarian Socialist Party Member Kadiev to Create New Party

Sofia, February 16 (BTA) - Former Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) member and incumbent independent MP Georgi Kadiev and a group of like-minded people are going to establish a new party called "Normal State," Kadiev told a BTA-hosted news conference on Tuesday.

Kadiev said that the name of the new political project was chosen to reflect what Bulgaria lacks most at the moment. In Kadiev's words, the division is no longer left against right but honest against dishonest, uncorrupted against corrupted, "us against them". He said the motto of the party is "Start over from scratch".

Kadiev said the new formation is turned to the most discontented in Bulgaria and will seek to attract people in active age between 30 and 50 years.

He said the new party is going to be progressive, pro-European and modern. "I have no intention of marauding any political party," Kadiev said, approached to comment the new party's attitude towards BSP.

Kadiev said canvassing to collect signatures starts across the country, so that the formation files documents in the court by May "and be ready for elections". In Kadiev's words, early elections are looming.

In 2015 Kadiev was expelled from the parliamentary group of the BSP after he decided to run for Sofia mayor despite the fact that his party had nominated another candidate.
