Tirana/Sofia, June 4 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov Monday conferred with his Kosovar counterpart Ramush Haradinaj in Tirana. The two talked within the Aqaba Process meeting held here, at Haradinaj's request, the information service of the Bulgarian government said.

Haradinaj noted Borissov's leader position in focusing Europe's attention on the countries in the Western Balkans and thanked for the efforts of the Bulgarian EU Presidency in making progress in the integration of the Western Balkan countries.

Haradinaj expressed his country's readiness to assist and continue the partnership for the realization of Balkan projects.

The two prime ministers discussed the transport projects for connectivity of the countries in the Balkans, with special focus on the construction of Corridor VIII which will connect the Adriatic and the Black Sea. Borissov said that "a lot of work is needed if we want to develop these countries and connect the region with Europe". In his words, the importance and benefits from the implementation of the projects for connectivity of the countries in the region will contribute both to improving people's lives there but also to strengthening the good neighbourly relations in this part of Europe. "This is a sine qua non for attaining good economic performance, stability, security and prosperity in the Balkans," Borissov said.
