Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov is on an official visit to Slovakia on Thursday at the invitation of his counterpart - General Daniel Zmeko, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The purpose of the visit is to discuss the status and prospects for expanding bilateral military cooperation between the armies of Bulgaria and Slovakia, as well as their participation in joint initiatives in an allied format. The main topic of discussion will be the modernization of the Armed Forces, with a focus on the exchange of experience on the projects for the acquisition and use of the F-16 multirole fighter, which both countries are implementing in their air forces.
