Deepening the strategic partnership between the U.S. and Bulgaria should be a top priority for the new governments of both countries, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said at a brief meeting with U.S. Vice President James David Vance, the Council of Ministers reported on its official Facebook page on Tuesday.

The two spoke on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris. Zhelyazkov highlighted defence and new technologies as some of the areas where the two countries could cooperate at a deeper level. As an example, the Prime Minister pointed to the Bulgarian institute INSAIT, which develops a number of new technologies for global companies such as Google and Amazon.

The Government's press centre added that on Tuesday Zhelyazkov will take part in a discussion on the future of artificial intelligence and its applications. The discussion will also include Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, U.S. Vice President James David Vance, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and many other leaders.
