site.btaFlu Epidemic Measures Lifted Across Country

As of February 12, there will be no restrictions related to the spread of influenza in the country, the Health Ministry said on its website. In the last two districts, where a flu epidemic was declared - Veliko Tarnovo and Sliven, the anti-epidemic measures have been lifted.

Between February 3 and 9, 5,614 cases of acute infectious diseases were registered against 7,168 cases in the previous week. Of these, 4,643 were cases of flu and acute respiratory diseases (ARD), compared to 6,154 cases in the previous week. The overall incidence of influenza and ARD for the country was 133.90 per 10,000 against 177.48 per 10,000 for the previous week.

In the last reporting week, the highest incidence of influenza and ARD was recorded in Yambol Region and the lowest in Sofia, according to the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.
