In 2023, the GDP of Bulgaria amounted to BGN 185.233 billion, according to data of the National Statistics Institute, published on Tuesday.

The highest level of GDP per capita was in Sofia (Capital) with nearly BGN 62 000 BGN, compared to an average of nearly BGN 29 000 in the country.

South-West Planning Region had the biggest share (50.2%) in the GDP in 2023, while North-West Planning Region had the lowest share (6.9%). The GDP of Northern and Southeastern Region was BGN 68 billion, while that of Southwestern and South-Central Region was around BGN 117 billion.
