Accelerating the process of Kosovo's integration into international structures, the European and Euro-Atlantic community will be a positive sign for the whole region, President Rumen Radev was quoted as saying by his press secretariat. Thursday Radev met with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, before the start of the the 4th European Political Community Summit at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. The two sides emphasized the excellent political dialogue as a factor for the all-round development of relations between Bulgaria and Kosovo.

The Bulgarian head of State highly appreciated the results of his official visit to Kosovo in December 2023, when a wide range of topics from the agenda of bilateral cooperation in the economy, investments, education and security were discussed, as well as his meetings with the representatives of the Bulgarian community in the country. Radev expressed his appreciation for Kosovo's approach towards the communities in line with European democratic standards. The common position of both sides was that guaranteeing the right to self-determination is among the foundations of democracy. The Bulgarian President expressed hope that the process of affirming the status and opportunities for the full exercise of the Bulgarian community’s rights in Kosovo will continue as a real factor for the subsequent strengthening of ties between the two countries.
