The Borovets ski resort will mark World Snow Day on January 18 with a day lift ticket of BGN 1 for children aged 7 to 13 year and with free one-hour lessons for beginners in skiing and snowboarding, the resort's management said on its website on Tuesday.

The offers are part of the large-scale initiative of the International Ski Federation World Snow Day, which aims to promote snow sports among children. Borovets will join the initiative for the 14th year in a row.

Ski lessons for beginners will start on Saturdays at 10:00, 11:00, 13:00 and 14:00, while snowboard lessons will be held from 11:00 and 13:00.

There will be a slalom course on the training ground, arranged by the skiing legend Petar Popangelov, who will give out certificates to people who made their descent from 11:00 to 12:00.
