The conditions for tourism in the mountains are good on Monday morning, but the weather is expected to deteriorate in the afternoon, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA.

There is scattered cloud cover, there is fog in the Balkan region, and it is sunny in the Rhodope region.

The facilities on the slopes are working, and the snow on the slopes is about 30-40 cm thick.

The cloud cover over the mountains will be significant on Monday, with a moderate to strong west-north-westerly wind the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said. In places above 1500-1700 meters above sea level, it will snow, in the Eastern Rhodopes there will be rain and snow. Highs: 5C at 1,200m, 0C at 2,000m.
