Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev will participate in the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on its website.
During the meeting, ministers will discuss Russian aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, Iran, and EU-US relations, the ministry noted.
High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Polic Kaja Kallas will propose that the 27 EU member states provide military aid to Ukraine worth up to EUR 40 billion, diplomatic sources cited by AFP said.
Kallas has already presented an initial version of her initiative to provide rapid assistance to Ukraine’s armed forces, but it did not include specific numbers.
The new proposal, which will be presented to EU foreign ministers on Monday, includes the rapid mobilization of EUR 20 billion and potentially up to EUR 40 billion, depending on Ukraine’s needs, to help supply artillery ammunition, including two million shells by 2025, air defence systems, and drones.
