Diplomats and honorary consuls of the Diplomatic Club in Odesa held their first meeting on March 13. Bulgaria's Consul General Svetoslav Ivanov participated in it.
A platform was created in collaboration with diplomats and honorary consuls in Odesa Region, aimed at establishing open dialogue in international cooperation and at strengthening the region's position on the global stage, the Odesa Regional Military Administration said on Facebook.
The Diplomatic Club is planning to organize international roundtables and panel discussions, educational and cultural events, international sports competitions and internship opportunities for Ukrainian students abroad, among others.
Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said: "I hope that through our joint efforts, we will be able to attract investments, expand international partnerships and create conditions for the economic development of Odesa Region. It is important for us to hear the voices of representatives of diplomatic missions, businesses, civil society and academia. Constructive dialogue and pooling our efforts are the path to the real changes we seek."
The newly established Diplomatic Club was presented at the meeting. It was announced that 160 international meetings and events had taken place in Odesa Region. Italy, Poland, Germany and France have provided technical assistance. Last year, Greece organized a summer vacation for 311 Ukrainian children, while Bulgaria hosted 300 children," Svetoslav Ivanov told BTA's BG World section.
"The participants discussed investment opportunities in Odesa Region, its role in global processes, international partnerships and a development strategy. It was reported that 250 projects are being prepared for the region's recovery in the next three to five years. Odesa Region needs assistance to restore its port infrastructure, energy system, healthcare and education. Bulgaria will take part in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction," the Bulgarian diplomat said.
