Festival director Iva Chavdarova announced on Monday that the Gidon Kremer Trio will perform this evening at the Dohodno Zdanie in Ruse as part of the 64th edition of the international March Music Days festival, which runs until March 30.
Pianist Georgijs Osokins, violinist Gidon Kremer, and cellist Giedre Dirvanauskaite will take the stage, performing works by Schubert, Kancheli, and Rachmaninoff.
“This is not an exclusive trio. It was formed three years ago. I am delighted to participate in this renowned festival,” Osokins said.
He noted that Maestro Kremer plays a significant role in supporting young musicians, building bridges between celebrated and contemporary composers.
“His goal is to attract new audiences while keeping the existing one engaged,” Osokins added.
Ruse’s festival program for Monday also includes the opening of an exhibition by the Pancho Vladigerov House Museum in Sofia, titled Pancho Vladigerov: Directions, Connections, Reflections.
BTA is among March Music Days main media partners. This is one of Bulgaria’s longest-running and most prestigious festival stages. With a modern programming strategy and strong public recognition, it has been a key cultural event since its founding in 1961. Organized by the Municipality of Ruse, the festival annually transforms the city into a meeting place for elite artists from the global and European music scene.
