The mountains offer excellent hiking conditions on Wednesday, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross has told BTA.

The weather is clear, with light wind at the highest elevations and temperatures around 0C. The MRS said that while there is some avalanche risk in certain areas, it remains below average due to the thin layer of new snow. 

The slopes in the winter resorts are in excellent condition and most facilities are operational. 

According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, it will be sunny in the mountains on Wednesday, with light to moderate east-northeasterly wind. Highs: around 10C at an altitude of 1,200 metres, and around 4C at 2,000 metres.
