President Rumen Radev spoke by telephone with skier Albert Popov on the occasion of his victory in the World Cup night slalom in the Italian winter centre of Madonna di Campiglio on Wednesday evening, said the press service of the President on Thursday evening.

During the conversation, Radev said that Popov's historic success is a cause for pride not only for fans of winter sports in the country, but has brought true joy to all Bulgarians.

President Radev wished the athlete success at the upcoming World Championships, which begin on February 4 and will take place in the Austrian Alpine region of Saalbach.
