The Bulgarian Milena Todorova finished third in the 7.5 km sprint at the Biathlon World Cup in the German winter centre Oberhof on Thursday. The last time a Bulgarian biathlete was on the World Cup podium was on March 13, 2004, when Ekaterina Dafovska finished second in the pursuit in Oslo.

Todorova made one mistake in the second shooting from straight position and covered the course in 23:27.8 minutes. She was 35.0 seconds behind winner Paula Botet (FRA). The Norwegian Maren Kirkeeide finished second with one mistake and a gap of 31.1 seconds.

The Bulgarian returned to the track this year after maternity leave.

Two more Bulgarians participated in the competition. Stefani Yolova finished 87th and Maria Zdravkova - 89th.

A total of 97 biathletes took part in the race.
