The President of Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC), Stefka Kostadinova, wished Bulgarian athletes to win at least 5-6 gold medals at Summer Olympic Games in Paris. Kostadinova attended a painting exhibition by Vladimir Nikolov at the Bulgarian Embassy in the French capital on Friday.

The BOC President noted that Olympics are the peak of a sporting career, adding that all the young talents and athletes have been preparing for the Games for more than four years. "I'm very excited because I've been through it all this long way and I know very well what it's like to become a European champion, a world champion, an Olympic champion and I wish it to them all, from the bottom of my heart," Kostadinova said.

Kostadinova is a former athlete who competed in the high jump. Her world record of 2.09 metres in 1987 stood until 2024 when it was broken by Yaroslava Mahuchikh at Paris Diamond League. She is the 1996 Olympic champion, a two-time World champion, and a five-time World Indoor champion. She has been the president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee since 2005.
