Bulgaria's Sportsperson of the Year 2023, basketball player Aleksandar ‘Sasha’ Vezenkov, will continue his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in Toronto Raptors, ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski reported on social network X.

The Toronto Raptors have acquired power forward Vezenkov, point guard Davion Mitchell, and the 45th overall selection from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for forward Jalen McDaniels, Wojnarowski said.

Vezenkov is heading into the second year of a three-year, $20 million deal.

In his debut season in the NBA, Vezenkov played 42 games in total for Sacramento Kings, missing much of the second half of the campaign due to injuries. His per-game averages were as it follows: 12.2 minutes, 5.4 points, 44% shooting success rate, 37.5 long-range shooting success rate, 2.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocked shots.
