Bulgaria's highest ranked tennis player Grigor Dimitrov decisively won his first grass court match of the season against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the first round of the ATP 500 tournament at Queen's Club in London on Monday. The world No. 10 won 6-1, 6-2 in a match that lasted an hour and three minutes.
This victory marks his sixth success in six matches against Mannarino. In the second round, the third seed will face the winner of the match between American Sebastian Korda and Russian Karen Khachanov.
In his on-court interview after the match, Dimitrov expressed satisfaction with his performance, highlighting his strong start and solid service game. He emphasized the importance of consistency on and off the court, attributing his confidence and success to the rigorous effort he puts into his game. Dimitrov also mentioned his fondness for playing on grass and for this particular court, where he emerged as the winner in 2014.
Dimitrov finished the match with 12 aces and won 86% of points on his first serve. He converted four break points out of nine opportunities and did not allow any break points to his opponent.
