European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) President Ioannis Filippatos has arrived in Bulgaria to make an episode of the film The Protagonists about Stoyka Krasteva, the women's flyweight Olympic Champion in Tokyo 2020.

Interviewed on www.bgboxing org, Dr Filippatos said that Bulgaria feels like a second home to him and regards Bulgarian Boxing Federation President Krasimir Ininski as a brother, describing him as "an exceedingly apt and competent manger who knows how to do things the right way." "He built a team literally from scratch and turned it into a Balkan dream team. More than that, Bulgaria already has a European dram team, and you will slowly but surely build a world dream team," the EUBC President said, citing the numerous medals won by Bulgarian boxers and their excellent performance in the Olympic qualifications.

The interviewee expects Bulgaria to add more to the four places in the Paris Olympics boxing tournament that the country has secured so far. "I am 100 per cent sure that you will win several medals in Paris, including gold ones, despite the competition from Cuba, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. I am certain that you will be in the top five in the medals table," the European boxing chief said.

Dr Filippatos said that Bulgaria will cope perfectly with organizing the 2024 European Under 22 Boxing Championships in October. "It is only up to you when to host again European men's and women's championships. We will be delighted to award you this tournament. The hosting is yours as soon as Krasimir Ininski is ready and, of course, gets support form the State," the EUBC President pointed out. "We are by your side and will support you," he added.
