The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) and the Electricity System Operator (ESO) are in the final stage of developing a programme aiming to assist public consumers, such as hospitals, schools, municipalities, in the construction of renewable energy sources (RES), said BDB Supervisory Board Chair Rosen Karadimov, quoted by the bank's press centre.
For this purpose, BDB and ESO plan to create a joint company. The price of electricity produced by public consumers will be fixed for a period of 10 years, and after its expiration they will be able to acquire the capacity, Karadimov noted.
Karadimov also indicated that as a partner of the European Commission under InvestEU, BDB will guarantee BGN 2.5 billion in financial resources aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.
