The Finance Ministry on Monday reopened an issue of 7-year government securities which was launched at an auction on January 27, 2025. The BGN-denominated issue matures on January 29, 2032, and carries an interest coupon of 3.25%, the ministry said on its website.

At Monday’s auction, the volume of the issue in circulation was increased by BGN 100 million to BGN 500 million in nominal value. The annual weighted average yield reported at the auction is 3.43%.

The total subscribed amount reached BGN 301.2 million, which put the bid-to-cover ratio at 3. The spread against corresponding German Bunds is 90 basis points.

This is the sixth auction so far in 2025 at which debt has been placed on the domestic market. The debt assumed since January amounts to BGN 1 billion, according to information published on the Finance Ministry website.

The State Budget Act puts a cap of BGN 18.9 billion on the new debt which Bulgaria can assume in 2025.
