The conditions for tourism in the mountains are not very good, the Bulgarian Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service (MRD) reported to BTA.

The weather is warm and quiet, there is no wind. There is fog and clouds in the highest parts of the mountains. It is still snowy, although in many places the snow is patchy.

People should be prepared for winter walking, the MRS warned. The terrain is quite slippery in places, so tourists who make more technical hikes should carry snow shoes.

The facilities in the resorts are working and the conditions for skiing are still favourable but progressively deteriorating.

There have been no incidents with tourists over the past 24 hours.
