The parliamentary group of Velichie called on the authorities to deal with illegal dumping sites across the country within a week. In a declaration read out in Parliament, for all competent state institutions, parties in the National Assembly (NA), and the media to take immediate action and resolve the issue of illegal dumping sites in the country within the next week. Otherwise they will prove that the government and the National Assembly are unable to fulfill their constitutional duties, the group’s floor leader Ivelin Mihaylov said as he read out a declaration.

"The Bulgarian people will have proof that you are not working in their interest, but are here for personal gain," he added.

Velichie condemns "the systemic actions aimed at destroying Bulgarian land, forests, water, nature, and citizens' health by the Bulgarian government through large-scale and long-lasting pollution with dumping sites and toxins". "Despite the thousands of tipoffs from the party, starting from January 7 this year and up to the present, regarding the presence of tens of thousands of toxic and destructive illegal dumping sites that harm Bulgaria’s nature and the health of its people, we have got zero response from the authorities, the government, a lack of stance from the other parties in the National Assembly, and a comfortable silence from the media," Mihaylov pointed out.
