Assets managed by insurance companies operating in Bulgaria amounted to BGN 10.817 billion as of the end of June 2024, the Bulgarian National Bank reported here on Monday. They increased by BGN 616 million (6%) compared to the end of June 2023 (BGN 10.201 billion) and increased by BGN 73.4 million (0.7%) compared to the end of the first quarter of 2024 (BGN 10.743 billion).

Assets of life insurance companies increased by BGN 406.9 million or 14.6% from BGN 2.783 billion as of the end of June 2023 to BGN 3.190 billion at the end of June 2024. Compared to the end of March 2024 (BGN 3.102 billion) they increased by BGN 88.4 million or 2.9%. At the end of June 2024 their share in the total assets was 29.5% compared to 27.3% at the end of the second quarter of 2023 and 28.9% at the end of March 2024.

Assets managed by general insurance companies increased by BGN 209.1 million or 2.8% from BGN 7.418 billion as of the end of June 2023 to BGN 7.627 billion at the end of June 2024 and decreased by BGN 15 million (0.2%) compared to the end of March 2024 (BGN 7.642 billion). As of the end of June 2024 the share of the assets of general insurance companies in the overall assets was 70.5% compared to 72.7% at the end of the second quarter of 2023 and 71.1% at the end of March 2024.
