The Union of Danube Fruit Growers presented Bulgaria at the FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024 international exhibition in Berlin, the Union said in a press release. The forum brought together visitors from over 140 countries who had the chance to meet with fruit and vegetable growers from 94 countries of all continents. A record number of exhibitors - 2,770, took part in this year's expo.
The Bulgarian participation was organized by the Union of Danube Fruit Growers, with the support of the Agriculture and Food Ministry and State Fund Agriculture. Bulgaria's stand was also represented by producers of the Dobrudzha Fruit Growing Union and the Bulgarian Association of Raspberry and Berry Growers.
Miroslav Chernikov, Board Member of the Union of Danube Fruit Growers, said that the fruit industry faces numerous challenges, including cost increases, which threaten the profitability of Bulgarian and international producers.
Reducing the administrative burden is even more important for the sector in Bulgaria, Bulgarian fruit and vegetable growers said. "We are in the light and certainly unfair and illegal practices do not exist here. That is why we will continue to support the state's efforts to stop illegal and unfair imports," said Dimitar Rachev, also a Union of Danube Fruit Growers Board Member.
