From June 6, 2023 to February 5, 2024, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth issued 21 investment certificates under the Investment Promotion Act. That is an increase by 41% in the volume of certified investments and by over 18% in the expected number of new jobs, Innovation and Growth Minister Milena Stoycheva said here on Friday. She was speaking at a ceremony for presenting three companies with investment certificates.

Stoycheva specified that the period in question saw the issue of 12 class A investment certificates, 6 class B, and 3 priority project certificates. The planned investments amount to BGN 499.5 million and the new jobs, 2,010. Another two certificates are in the process of being issued this month, for projects worth over BGN 10 million, she said.

At the ceremony, the Innovation Minister presented AQ Electric AD with a class A investment certificate. The company's investment project seeks to expand its activity and build a modern and high-tech factory in Pernik (Western Bulgaria). The factory will produce end electricity products for renewable energy sources and electricity transmission for leading world companies. The investment amounts to BGN 10,400,000 and will create 170 jobs.

A class A certificate for an investment project was conferred on ‍Svilosa - Zik AD, which plans to invest BGN 25,670,000 in the construction of a new production installation for microcrystalline cellulose in Svishtov (North Central Bulgaria), which will create 40 jobs.

A class B certificate was conferred on Technooptic OOD, whose investment project envisages an increase and optimization of the company's production capacity. A production building will be constructed with offices, a measuring lab, and service rooms at the Bozhurishte Industrial Zone in Sofia. The company, which specializes in the manufacture and trade in precise optical components, plans to invest BGN 2,000,000 in the project.

InvestBulgaria Agency Mila Nenova also attended the ceremony.
